A number of ways are used by pregnant women so that the baby is born in a healthy condition and develops well. One way is to exercise. Exercise is not only beneficial for the health of the prospective mother. This activity will also be very beneficial for the health of the baby, especially in the health of the heart and the coordination and motor systems of the baby.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) reveals that women who are pregnant can do moderate-intensity exercise. These activities are carried out to adjust the body to changes caused by pregnancy.

Recent research from the University of East Carolina suggests pregnant women to do active activities such as brisk walking, jogging, aerobics, or spinning within 50 minutes. This is said to be able to make babies have better motor skills. Especially for babies of female sex.

During the research period, the East Carolina research team took samples from 71 healthy pregnant women aged 18-35 years. Each of these women carries one baby, and not twins.

Half of these women were placed in a group exercise program, which of course agreed on their own accord. They spend 45-50 minutes doing the treadmill, stationary bike and aerobics three times a week. They do this activity routinely from week 16 of their pregnancy to week 36. Meanwhile, in the other group, the pregnant women only do light stretches and supervised breathing exercises. They do this activity three times a week.

The results of this research test also have good news. The reason is, all 71 women successfully delivered babies in good health. However, after several weeks, some differences emerged between the babies born between these two groups.

By the time the baby was one month old, babies of mothers who actively exercised during pregnancy were reported to have developed stronger and faster. Some of these differences were identified when the baby was asked to make a fist, move objects, crawl, roll, and other movements.

Exercise in pregnant women also has other benefits. Moreover, the movement of blood flow will be more optimal. This will give the developing baby a better flow of nutrients and hormones in general.
