Clean Your Makeup Blender and Makeup Brushes

Makeup brushes and makeup blenders can be breeding grounds for bacteria, especially if they are not cleaned regularly or stored properly or, worse, shared with friends. Think about it: Even if you don't have oily skin, the build-up of products and germs can contaminate your brushes and if you don't clean them, you'll just transfer them to your face.

The following steps should be followed when cleaning your makeup kit, whether it's a brush, a blender and anything in between.

Step 1 - Rinse

One has to be very careful that water does not flow directly to the bottom of the brush. This is because water weakens the glue and causes the bristles to fall off, thus shortening the life of the brush. The proper way to rinse the brush is to always rinse the bristles under running water. However, the blender should be rinsed using warm water until it is completely wet.

Step 2 - Cleaning

When cleaning a brush, a mild shampoo, soap, or everyday facial cleanser can work perfectly to help remove any makeup or grime that sticks to the bristles over time. Shampoo should be applied to the brittle and rinsed with water until clean. You can also massage coconut oil into the bristles to get all the stubborn products out of the brush. Foam should be formed in a blender with shampoo and washed thoroughly then rinsed until the water runs clear.

Step 3 - Disinfect

Rinsing and cleaning the blender and bristles is sufficient to remove all forms of dirt on the brush but not enough to remove germs and bacteria. The only way to get rid of bacteria is to disinfect the hair. This can be done using a solution containing two parts water and one part vinegar. Blender and bristle brush should be rinsed with water after disinfecting with the solution.

Step 4 - Drying

The final step to follow when cleaning the brush and blender is to dry it. Excess water can be removed from them using a dry towel. The bristles should be reshaped and the brushes should be allowed to dry overnight. The blender should be air dry or if it needs to be used moist, it can work immediately.

So that's how to clean your Makeup Blender and Makeup Brush, how interested you are to try.
