Cervical cancer is cancer that grows on the cells in the cervix. This cancer occurs when there are cells in the cervix, aka the cervix that are abnormal and grow out of control. These abnormal cells can grow rapidly, causing tumors in the cervix. Malignant tumors later develop into cervical cancer.

There are a certain percentage of women who are still reluctant to go to health service centers in their respective areas. Either they are afraid of being called a disease or afraid that their illness will be discovered by their family or other people. Even though by taking precautions from an early age we can find out and take further treatment steps, right?

There are several habits that are believed to accelerate the risk of cervical cancer, including:

  • Smoking
  • Sex with multiple partners
  • Immunosuppression, such as HIV AIDS
  • Exposed to Chlamydia infection
  • Lack of consuming healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables
  • Obesity
  • The habit of using drinking contraceptives or birth control pills in the long term
  • Women who have been pregnant and have given birth more than 3 times
  • Pregnant and give birth at a young age
  • The poverty factor
  • Heredity
  • Age
  • Use of the drug Diethylstillbestrol

After we know the factors that cause it, to anticipate it, there are some easy steps we can take, namely:

  • Conduct early examination at a health service center.
  • Performing a Pap Smear examination
  • If the hospital is too far from your residence, there is also a very easy examination test, called the IVA test (visual inspection with acetic acid), which is cheaper and easier to perform. This screening test is being promoted in every corner to make it easier for women to have health checks.
  • For those who are under 26 years of age, they can do the HPV vaccine to protect against the attack of the HPV 16 and HPV 18 viruses which can cause abnormal cervical cell growth.
  • Avoid transmission of the HPV virus, namely by having safer sex, for example not changing partners or using condom contraception.

To prevent the progression of cancer to a higher stage, then start changing our lifestyle such as maintaining a diet, eating more fruits and vegetables, regular exercise, adequate rest, not smoking and drinking alcohol and what is not much less important, namely, don't have sex carelessly!

It's easy, right? Don't say hard before doing it, remember! Health is much more important than wealth, especially for women. The health of the sex and reproductive organs must be considered carefully so that there is no disaster in the future.
