Pregnant women are strongly advised to do sports and be diligent in physical activity. Exercise is very important for the health of pregnant women so that the body remains fit and empowered and can smooth the labor process.

  • Be careful during the first 12 weeks


The first trimester of pregnancy is a time when miscarriage is at a very high risk. Therefore, you must be careful to choose what type of exercise you want to do. In this period, choose the type of exercise with light intensity. This will give you confidence and less anxiety and worry. If you don't have the courage to do sports, you can also increase your physical activity, such as walking more and doing household chores.

 

  • Don't try a new sport


Pregnancy is a period where your body will continue to adapt. Therefore, you are advised to only do sports that have been done before. Don't forget to keep adjusting the intensity according to your body's comfort.


  • Join a pregnant woman fitness class


Exercise methods such as yoga and pilates are highly recommended for women who are pregnant. Both types of activities are able to benefit a pregnant woman's mental and physical health. By joining fitness classes, you can also be motivated and can interact with other pregnant women who will be ready to support each other.


  • Don't hold your breath


When doing sports, pregnant women are not allowed to hold their breath for too long. The reason is, the fetus really needs oxygen which only he can get through the mother. Always remember not to choose sports that require you to lift weights or hold your body, which require you to hold your breath.
