  • Calf cramps

When pregnant women wear high heels for too long, the muscles in the calves will contract. This is what causes cramps in the calf muscles to worsen during pregnancy.

  • Back pain

High heels generally function to change body posture to become straighter. The pelvic muscles will bend forward and give a rounder shape to the back. Women who are pregnant will usually have a heavier weight on the front, so posture changes that are triggered by wearing high heels will cause pain. The ligaments in the lower back and legs also become loose during pregnancy. Wearing high heels will only put more pressure on the hip joint and back. This condition causes pain around the joints and ligaments of the lower back.

  • The body is less balanced

The strength in the ankles tends to decrease as a result of being overweight and the hormonal changes in the body. Pregnant women who wear heels tend to lose their balance and will be easier to fall. This not only results in injury to the future mother, but also to the fetus.

  • Swollen feet

A medical condition called edema is a condition that is swollen in the foot or ankle, which is quite common during pregnancy. Using high heels will only add to the problem. Wearing high heels, especially at the end of pregnancy, can cause your feet to swell even more. Fluid that accumulates more and more in the lower part of the body is also a factor in the swelling of the feet.
